Data Migration Specialist

As a Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for securely and accurately transferring data from legacy ERP systems to Deltek Vantagepoint. This role requires strong Microsoft SQL skills and a deep understanding of data structures, relationships, and strategy. You will work closely with the project team to plan, manage, and execute data migration projects.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with project teams to determine data migration requirements.
  • Understand and map data structures to ensure accurate data transfer.
  • Perform data analysis on legacy systems.
  • Develop and implement migration scripts and procedures.
  • Thoroughly test the migration process.
  • Review and assess data to identify potential issues.
  • Reconcile data between legacy systems and migrated data.
  • Execute data migration in a production environment.
  • Collaborate with Operations to design, build, and customize reports using Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Create workflows in Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Research and develop new technologies and tools related to Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Deltek Vantagepoint.

Qualifications :

  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading into Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint.
  • Experience with relational databases, including tables, views, queries, T-SQL, and stored procedures.
  • Ability to develop complex queries and stored procedures using SQL for Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint workflows and custom reports.
  • Thorough understanding of database systems and data migration techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Understanding of data usage and implications for data migration.
  • Experience in developing best practices, processes, and standards for data migration activities.
  • Experience in data mapping between legacy systems and Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint.
  • Experience in data extraction and cleansing.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint) and understanding their data structures.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • 5+ years of development experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience in professional services is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint is required.
