Position : Executive / Senior Executive – Dealer (Fixed Income Markets)
Responsible to : Managing Director
A. Overview of the position
The position will be responsible for operationalizing Sovereign Global Markets Pvt.
Ltd.’s (SGMPL) operational tactics for the ‘Fixed Income Markets’ Business Unit.
He / she will be responsible for executing (if needed), updating and maintaining
the details of transactions and portfolios of clients pertaining to the Fixed Income
Markets Business Unit. He / She will coordinate at the tactical and operational
levels, with the other functions of SGMPL.
B. Qualification
o Primary : Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business
o Additional (preferred) : Diploma in investment management, financial
markets or allied domains
C. Experience and Skills
o Good knowledge and understanding of Fixed Income products, Fixed Income
o Good understanding of trading platforms and mechanics of trading, with

o Has to be up to date with industry / research reports, market news and
o Proven understanding of commercial terms, pertaining to fixed income
o Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, data base management and other

D. Working Relationship
The position reports to the Managing Director and serves as a member of the
operational team.
This position participates with the management team towards operationalizing
initiatives for SGMPL’s ‘Fixed Income Markets’ Business Unit, assuring its

accountability to all stakeholders and ensuring its effective operations. It also has
working relationship with other cross-functional teams.
E. Key Responsibilities
o Responsible for setting up clients in SGMPL’s database and tools, ensuring
accuracy and completeness of clients’ information.
o Undertake and fulfil clients' KYC requirements.
o Process investment transactions - punch trades for mapped clients in
SGMPL's database as well as on terminals (where applicable).
o Trade in money market and bond deals on behalf of clients (where
applicable), keeping them informed about rates, research information and
market outlook, order / trade details and confirmations. Additionally, update
clients regarding Pay-in and Pay-out of funds and securities, margin funding,
etc. as required.
o Constantly monitor and review the transactions to verify their accuracy and
ensure that they are in conformance with the rules and regulations and in
adherence as per the Compliance framework.
o Communicate trading calls and investing ideas to customers.
o Monitor client exposure limits and escalate breaches (internally and
externally).
o Promote research calls to increase volume and frequency.
o Prepare and publish reports and updates on clients' trades, market changes
and the corresponding effect on clients' portfolios.
o Resolve customer queries, pertaining to transactions and portfolios.
o Accompany Sales personnel for customer visits, with a perspective of
increasing 'depth' in existing relationship with Clients as well generating leads
through references.
o Keep abreast of the market news, financial trends, and current affairs.
o Attend Analyst Meets for improved client servicing.
o Ensure timely generation and submission of Management Reports, as and
when needed.
o Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to meet the objectives of the
business unit.
