Sr. PCB Design Engineer

Virbhu India Pvt Ltd, a leading solid state power conversion company located at Vadodara (Gujarat), A wholly owned subsidiary of AK Power Solutions (www.akpowers.com) (USA), operating in the field of power electronics, has an immediate opening for a Sr. PCB Design Engineer

to lead development of Mega Watt scale converters using SiC devices and IGBT devise for DC fast Charging of trucks and buses , solar power generation , Battery energy storage systems, electrolytic deposition , electrolyzes to produce Hydrogen fuel and other applications .

The US parent company , AK power Solutions sells IPM (integrated power modules) for fast DC charging currently in USA and is led by an IIT graduate. In addition to AK, he also leads VTC , the largest power transformer manufacturer in USA.

Key Skills :

Experience in designing Power electronics, High Speed, High Voltage PCB and Multilayer PCB is must.

Exposure of different PCB, CAD, CAM design tools, preferably extensive experience in Altium Design.

Design to meet IEC standards of EMC / EMI, Surge, EFT, safety & reliability.

Design PCB as per the specs provided by technical team, Maintain and update PCB design documents, Participate in design reviews, PCB inspections / Testing.

Must have worked in stacked and complex boards with high layer count.

Should individually handle PCB layout from schematics creation to Gerber release.

Experience in Power & Signal integrity analysis.

Experience in DFM / DFX thermal analysis.

Verify existing design and recommend improvements.

Propose Process improvements to ensure PCB functionality, quality & reliability.

Perform updates according to change in customer or internal requirements.

Identify risks and challenges and propose action plan.

Self-driven, motivated and show high productivity in PCB design & development.

Hands on experience in creation of BoM, Fabrication & assembly drawings for ECO process.

Able to communicate clearly, organize effectively and document work thoroughly while working with local and global teams.

In-depth knowledge of PCB fabrication process & assembly.

Good Understanding of product data management tools-based release and change order process and PCB life cycle processes.

IPC process certified in PCB designing will be an advantage.

Essential Duties / Principal Responsibilities

Design & develop microcontroller / DSP / FPGA based PCB board for Power conversion stage like, AFE, PSFB, DAB, DC-DC converter, AC-DC Converter etc. type of application.

Design, selection, Specification, and validation of critical hardware components-Microcontrollers, Memories, Communication interfaces etc.

Perform board designs from system level requirements and test including requirements analysis & documentation, circuit design digital electronics, schematic capture, verification and testing of boards.

Interface as needed with product management, customers, Marketing & sales providing technical guidance on product developed.

Keep well informed of new features and products / services.

Be proactive in understanding product / services roadmaps and the implication of new features with peer engineers or self -training.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualification : Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License / Certification :

4-Year bachelor’s degree / 4+2 -Year Master’s Degree in Electronics & Communication or equivalent.

5-10 years of experience outside of university in PCB designing.

Use of recognized best practices in Hardware / Firmware / Software development methodologies and processes.

Excellent Communication skills with strong English both Written & Spoken.
