Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Global Delivery Centre (GDC) Functional Lead to oversee a team of functional consultants delivering SAP S / 4HANA solutions for global programs. This role combines deep S / 4 functional expertise with strong leadership, delivery governance, and stakeholder management to ensure high-quality, on-time, and cost-effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of SAP functional consultants across multiple S / 4HANA modules (e.g., FI / CO, MM, SD, PP, EWM, etc.).
  • Allocate resources effectively across projects, ensuring optimal utilization and capability development.
  • Drive performance management, skill development, and career growth of the functional team.

Delivery & Governance

  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of SAP S / 4HANA implementations, rollouts, and support engagements from the Global Delivery Centre.
  • Ensure compliance with delivery standards, methodologies (e.g., Activate), and quality frameworks.
  • Monitor project KPIs (scope, schedule, cost, and quality) and proactively address delivery risks / issues.

    • Functional Expertise

  • Provide solution leadership, validate functional designs, and resolve critical issues / escalations.
  • Collaborate with global architecture and COE teams to drive best practices, standardisation, and innovation.
  • Guide functional teams in delivering fit-gap analysis, configuration, testing, and integration with other systems.

    • Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for business leads, global process owners, and delivery leadership.
  • Support pre-sales activities, proposal creation, and solutioning for new opportunities.
  • Facilitate effective communication between onshore / offshore teams and client stakeholders.

    • Continuous Improvement

  • Drive automation, accelerators, and reusable assets to improve delivery efficiency.
  • Identify training needs to keep the team updated on S / 4HANA innovations and industry best practices.

    • Qualifications & Experience

  • Education : Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Experience :
  • 12+ years overall SAP experience with at least 5+ years in SAP S / 4HANA implementations.
  • Prior experience managing medium-to-large functional teams (15+ consultants) in a global delivery model.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end S / 4 business processes (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Proven track record of delivery governance, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Certifications : SAP S / 4HANA certification (Functional / Cloud) preferred; PMP / ITIL is a plus.

  • Strong functional depth in at least one S / 4 module, with good cross-module understanding.
  • Excellent team leadership and people management skills.
  • Solid delivery governance and project execution experience in global delivery centres.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural, distributed team environment.
