| About the role :

The AI Engineering team at Foodsmart is at the heart of transforming how millions of people access personalized nutrition and care. From building conversational experiences and predictive models to optimizing personalized outreach, the team integrates intelligent systems across the entire member journey. The Staff AI Engineer will play a critical role in designing and deploying solutions that drive real-world impact—like tailoring communications, improving engagement, and reducing missed appointments. We’re looking for someone who thrives in applying modern AI to practical challenges and who’s excited to shape the future of digital foodcare through scalable, thoughtful innovation.

You will :

• Develop scalable, high-performance backend applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Build and maintain APIs and microservices that enable real-time and batch inference of AI / ML models.
• Fine-tune and adapt pre-trained models (e.g., LLMs, classification models) for specific business use cases.
• Integrate external AI services (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, Google Vertex AI) where appropriate.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—ML engineers, software developers, product managers, and DevOps—to deliver end-to-end AI-powered features.
• Contribute to MLOps workflows, including deployment, versioning, and monitoring of models in production.
• Follow engineering best practices for clean code, testing, observability, and reliability.
• Stay up to date with advancements in AI tooling and infrastructure to continuously improve system performance and model impact.
