Senior Mechanical Static Engineer

Senior Mechanical Static Engineer, Oil & Gas.

Typical Industries : Oil & Gas (upstream and downstream).

Qualification : Bachelor's / master's degree in mechanical engineering.

Professional certifications (e.g., PE, API 510 / 570) are a plus preferable.

Experience : 8–15+ years of relevant industry experience.

Role :

A Senior Mechanical Static Engineer is responsible for the design, Detailing and Drafting of static mechanical equipment.

This includes :

1. Perform design and engineering of static equipment such as pressure vessels, shell & tube heat exchangers, air coolers, storage tanks, and columns.

2. Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and evaluation of vendor offers.

3. Review and approve vendor drawings and documents.

4. Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, PED, EN, TEMA).

5. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (process, piping, structural, etc.) and ensure alignment across deliverables.

6. Support procurement, fabrication, inspection, and construction activities.

7. Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and technical meetings with clients and vendors.

8. Conduct technical evaluations and resolve technical queries from vendors and site teams.

9. Provide input to project scheduling and progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Design & Engineering

a. Develop and review mechanical design specifications for static equipment.

b. Ensure designs comply with international codes (e.g., ASME, API, PED).

c. Perform mechanical calculations (wall thickness, nozzle loads, etc.).

2. Project Execution

a. Experienced in Basic, FEED and detailed engineering phases.

b. Oversee vendor document reviews and ensure compliance with project specs.

c. Coordinate with other disciplines (process, piping, civil, etc.).

3. Leadership & Mentoring

a. Guide to junior engineers.

b. Serve as a technical authority on static equipment issues.
