Position : CAD / CAM & R&D Engineer – Fabric & Wood

Location : Kuwait

Type : Full-time

About the role :

To digitize and optimize the design-to-production process for both wood and fabric components. The engineer will create precise digital models, nesting layouts, and CNC-ready programs for the iEcho automatic fabric cutter, beam saw, and 5-axis CNC. This position bridges design, production, and prototype fabrication, ensuring high precision and maximum material yield.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop 2D / 3D product designs and components in AutoCAD, Rhino, or SolidWorks.
  • Prepare toolpaths and nesting programs for (fabric), automatic beam saw, and 3,4,5-axis CNC

(wood).

  • Collaborate with R&D lead and prototype technicians to build, test, and refine prototypes.
  • Standardize digital libraries : templates, parametric models, and cut-file archives.
  • Optimize material yield through nesting and machine simulation.
  • Maintain revision control, ensuring design changes are documented and traceable.
  • Train operators and ensure CNC machines receive correct digital files.
  • Conduct time and material studies for prototype builds.
  • Qualifications :

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, nesting software, and toolpath generation.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of both wood fabrication and upholstery / fabric patterning processes.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to troubleshoot digital-to-machine errors.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Precision and attention to detail.
  • Cross-disciplinary knowledge (wood + fabric).
  • Process thinking and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong collaboration with production, supply chain, and R&D prototype teams
