Job description

We are seeking a Solenoid Manager to lead and manage the solenoid development team, overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept to production. This role requires strong technical expertise in solenoid systems, a focus on quality and compliance, and the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in a cross-functional environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the solenoid development team to ensure timely and effective product design, development, and delivery.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering skill development, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of solenoid product development from concept to final production.
  • Ensure proper design and development of solenoid systems , including their electromagnetic properties, mechanical design, and integration with control systems.
  • Direct the preparation and release of product-related technical documents such as BOMs, PFDs, PFMEAs, and engineering drawings for solenoid products .
  • Ensure that all solenoid products adhere to quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), industry standards, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead design reviews and implement corrective actions for design or manufacturing issues.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, durability, and testing standards for solenoids , including EMC / EMI, thermal, and vibration testing.
  • Plan and manage project timelines, ensuring successful execution of solenoid development projects on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, procurement) to ensure smooth development, testing, and production processes.
  • Monitor and track project progress, preparing detailed reports for stakeholders.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers and suppliers, capturing requirements and ensuring alignment between product development and customer expectations.
  • Handle customer complaints and technical support, ensuring timely resolution of issues related to solenoid products .
  • Ensure that solenoid products undergo extensive testing (e.g., performance testing, environmental testing, endurance testing) to meet quality and reliability standards.
  • Oversee the validation of solenoid products in real-world scenarios, including automotive or industrial applications.
  • Participate in failure analysis and root cause analysis when performance issues occur.
  • Collaborate with design, testing, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and assembly of solenoid products .
  • Provide technical leadership and support to other departments (e.g., production, procurement, quality) during the solenoid development and production phases .
  • Manage solenoid production activities , including sample builds, batch production, process validation, and tooling verification.
  • Oversee process capability studies, ensure smooth production handover, and handle production-related troubleshooting.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in product design and manufacturing processes for solenoids .
  • Implement new technologies or techniques to enhance solenoid product performance , reduce costs, and improve production efficiency.
  • Utilize advanced simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, COMSOL) for electromagnetic field analysis, solenoid design optimization , and performance validation.
  • Implement Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for mechanical performance simulations of solenoid structures , coils, and enclosures.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technological advancements in solenoid design and related fields, such as electromechanical actuators or micro solenoids.
  • Drive innovation within the team by encouraging research into new solenoid materials , technologies, and applications.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and external vendors for solenoid components and materials, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with external partners for prototyping, testing, and manufacturing needs.

Skills Required

  • Preferred Electrical & Electronics Background .
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a development team .
  • Expertise in solenoid design and development , including electromagnetic properties and mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in preparing technical documents such as BOMs, PFDs, PFMEAs , and engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and industry-specific requirements.
  • Experience with design reviews, corrective actions, and compliance (EMC / EMI, thermal, vibration testing).
  • Excellent project management skills , including timeline and budget adherence.
  • Strong cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience in customer technical discussions and complaint resolution.
  • Proficiency in solenoid product testing (performance, environmental, endurance) and validation.
  • Ability to conduct failure analysis and root cause analysis .
  • Experience in solenoid production activities , including sample builds and process validation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Familiarity with advanced simulation tools (ANSYS Maxwell, COMSOL) and FEA .
  • Knowledge of new solenoid materials and technologies .
  • Strong supplier and vendor management skills.
