We are seeking a seasoned Contract & Legal professional with deep expertise in international arbitration, contract management, and operational risk mitigation within the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will bring strategic legal insight, negotiation prowess, and a proven track record of handling complex claims and contractual matters across global operations.
Key Responsibilities :
International Arbitration :
- Lead and manage international arbitration proceedings, ensuring alignment with global legal standards and corporate interests.
Contract Management :
End-to-end drafting, review, and negotiation of high-value commercial contracts.Vetting contracts from a legal and risk perspective, ensuring compliance and enforceability.Handle INCO terms, freight agreements, and vessel-related legal documentation.Claims & Risk Mitigation :
Review and manage legal claims, including vessel claims and operational disputes.Analyse potential liabilities and implement strategies for cost reduction and risk mitigation.Provide legal support in procurement-related claims and negotiations.Stakeholder Engagement :
Negotiate with clients, vendors, and third parties on contractual and legal matters.Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, operations, and finance, to ensure legal safeguards.Litigation & Dispute Resolution :
Oversee litigation matters, coordinate with external counsel, and represent the company in legal forums.Develop and execute strategies to resolve disputes efficiently and favourably.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LLB / LLM) from a recognised institution.Minimum 12–15 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a large, listed manufacturing company.Strong understanding of international arbitration, maritime claims, INCO terms, and commercial law.Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations and legal risk in a dynamic business environment.Skills Required
