Senior DevOps Engineer
We are hiring an experienced DevOps Engineer to drive end-to-end infrastructure automation, scalable deployment pipelines, and platform resiliency for enterprise-grade, AWS-hosted systems. This individual contributor role is ideal for candidates with a deep hands-on background in Kubernetes (EKS), CI / CD, Terraform, GitOps, observability, and cloud-native DevOps practices. You will work closely with developers, SREs, and platform teams to ensure infrastructure reliability, performance, and security.
Mode : Hybrid (3 days / week from : US-based multinational banking institution
Key Responsibilities :
- Architect and manage CI / CD pipelines across Bitbucket, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
- Provision, monitor, and maintain AWS cloud environments, with a focus on automation, tagging standards, IAM roles, VPC networking, and cost controls.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS) with Helm, pod autoscaling, ingress configuration, probes, and RBAC.
- Implement GitOps workflows using Argo CD or similar tools for deployment automation and rollback strategies.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, Ansible, and AWS SAM for infrastructure consistency and scalability.
- Write and optimize Bash or Python scripts for system tasks, monitoring, and deployment automation.
- Ensure systems are secure, observable, and compliant, integrating DevSecOps checks and telemetry pipelines.
- Collaborate in incident management, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to post-incident RCAs.
- Build monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using CloudWatch, Prometheus, or other observability stacks.
- Support datastore integrations (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis) for backend systems including backup and performance tuning.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across environments on deployment strategy, environment config, and DR planning.
Required Technical Skills :
Strong hands-on experience with EC2, VPC, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECR, IAM, and CloudWatch.Skilled in deploying and managing workloads on Amazon EKS, Helm chart authoring, resource quotas, health probes, and servicediscovery.
Expertise with Terraform (modular, stateful), Ansible playbooks, and AWS SAM for serverless.Experience building and managing YAML-based pipelines in Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar.Experience configuring GitOps sync policies, access control, and automated deployments.Proficient in Bash or Python for task automation, system ops, and custom deployment logic.Strong command of Linux OS administration (Ubuntu / CentOS), NGINX / Apache configuration, performance tuning.Built and maintained dashboards and alerts using CloudWatch, Prometheus, or similar tools.Operational understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis for integration, optimization, and backup.Familiarity with DR planning, RPO / RTO concepts, and tools like Veeam or Commvault.Active experience in handling incidents, triaging issues, and conducting RCAs.Nice-to-Have Skills :
Exposure to declarative deployment strategies.Basic experience with Kafka configuration and integration in distributed systems.Experience with Datadog for real-time observability and custom dashboards.Familiarity with fault injection tools or resilience testing.Integrated security scanning and compliance readiness into CI / CD workflows.Experience with Maven, Gradle, or NPM in CI environments.AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Developer Associate, or HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate preferred.(ref : hirist.tech)
