Role Description

Title : Business Analyst lead – Private Equity .

It's an opportunity to work with leading Private Equity firms globally.

Role type : Full-time.

Location : Remote, India.

The position is offshore / remote, but the analyst will interact closely with global teams and offers g rowth opportunities in data, analytics, and digital transformation within Private Equity domain.

Overview : The Business Analyst lead will be a critical liaison between Private Equity clients, business stakeholders, and technology teams. The role demands strong domain understanding of Private Equity (PE) processes, portfolio management, investor reporting, fund administration, and deal lifecycle management. The candidate will also be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and translating them into technology solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
MBA or CFA Level 1+ preferred.
5–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst with at least 3 years in Private Equity / Asset Management domain.
Client experience - Experience with clients like KKR, Blackstone, Carlyle, etc. is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of fund accounting, fund administration, investor relations, and portfolio performance reporting.
Experience working with Private Equity technology platforms such as eFront, Investran, Allvue, Black Mountain, iLEVEL, or similar tools.
Hands on experience in data analysis, SQL, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik), and Excel-based financial modeling.
Prior consulting experience with firms such as Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, TCS, or similar servicing Private Equity clients is a strong plus.

Critical skills needed

Private Equity Domain Knowledge : Strong expertise in fund structures, investment lifecycle, capital calls, distributions, portfolio monitoring, and IR reporting.

Analytical & Data Skills : Ability to work with large datasets, financial models, and BI dashboards.

Technology Bridge : Ability to translate complex financial / business requirements into technology solutions.

Client-Facing Communication : Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders, preparing presentations, and managing requirements workshops.

Documentation : Strong ability to write BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and test cases.

Key responsibilities

Expand the team for private equity fund administration.

Work with the CFO organization to do carried interest calculations using waterfall on areas like expense management fees, income plan with ILPA.

Provide advisory and the technical support for the fund administrators on - fund management and accounting, fund strategy and migration activities, month end activities.

Investor reporting.

Work on data mapping, integration, and workflow automation between fund administration systems, data warehouses, and reporting platforms.

Develop business process documentation, dashboards, and KPIs for private equity operations and performance analytics.

Act as a bridge between business, data, and technology teams to ensure requirements are accurately implemented.

Support pre-sales and solutioning efforts for new opportunities in the Private Equity domain when required.
