Role objective :

Category Manager - is responsible to develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for Bakery that align with business goals, focusing on growth, profitability, and market share expansion. Oversee the product assortment within the bakery category, ensuring a balanced mix of offerings that cater to consumer preferences. Conduct regular market research to gather insights into consumer preferences, emerging trends, and potential growth areas. Work closely with sales and R&D teams to ensure alignment of objectives and seamless execution of bakery category plans.

Role responsibilities :

Category Growth

  • Analyze the sales data and use the information to understand present offerings to Key customers
  • Understand the Bakery category performance and metrices
  • Identify gaps and untapped opportunities with strategic accounts – identify ways of entry in their system with present offerings
  • Assess current market position and formulate a strategic growth plan for Bakery category considering market dynamics : customer and competition landscape

Pipeline Development

  • Drive initiatives that are customer led to improve pipeline that aids business growth
  • Timely review with sales and R&D team and facilitate seamless execution of pipeline projects
  • Project Management

  • End to end coordination with internal stakeholders for customer innovation days / meeting
  • Sales pitch development and training for Sales Team for Key Account engagements
  • Understand the customers future requirements and present it to the internal stakeholders based on the market relevance of the concept
  • Drive Innovation

  • Identify gaps and untapped opportunities in product portfolio with respect to consumer preference, market requirements and market trends.
  • Support R&D using the above information to develop future product portfolio thereby meeting market demands
  • Collaborate with R&D to identify innovative products in the Bakery category along with building a Pitch Portfolio which can be presented to other larger customer base
