1. Job Objective
To ensure compliance with environmental regulations, effective monitoring of pollution
control systems, implementation of environmental management practices, and support the
plant in maintaining statutory and corporate sustainability standards. The role involves
environmental data management, regulatory documentation, audits, monitoring, and
coordination with operational departments to achieve zero non-compliance.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Environmental Compliance & Statutory Activities
- Ensure compliance with MoEFCC, SPCB / CPCB norms, and other statutory environmental
regulations.
Prepare and submit statutory reports such as monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annualenvironmental statements.
Maintain records related to Air Act, Water Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, and EnvironmentalClearance (EC) conditions.
Support in liaison activities with regulatory authorities for inspections, renewals, andapprovals.
B. Environmental Monitoring & Control
Monitor emissions, stack parameters, ambient air quality, effluent quality, noise levels, andwater quality as per statutory norms.
Ensure continuous monitoring systems (OCEMS) for stack emissions and effluent arefunctioning properly.
Monitor the performance of ESP, Bag Filters, GCT, Wet Scrubbers, and other pollutioncontrol equipment.
Identify deviations and coordinate corrective actions with respective departments.C. Waste Management & Environmental Systems
Oversee hazardous waste, solid waste, kiln co-processing, and waste disposal systems inline with environmental rules.
Implement systems for waste minimization, recycling, reuse, and safe disposal.Maintain documentation related to hazardous waste manifests, annual returns, and stockrecords.
D. Environmental Management System (EMS) & Reporting
Support implementation of ISO 14001 (EMS) practices.Conduct inspections, internal audits, and support in external EMS audits.Prepare environmental performance dashboards, MIS reports, and sustainability data.E. Coordination & Field Support
Coordinate with operations, maintenance, mining, and quality teams to monitorenvironmental performance.
Support environmental measures during process changes, shutdowns, and projectactivities.
Provide inputs for environmental risk assessments and mitigation plans.F. Awareness, Training & Improvement Initiatives
Conduct environmental awareness programs and training for plant employees.Drive initiatives for water conservation, energy saving, green belt development, andcarbon footprint reduction.
Suggest improvements for pollution control equipment efficiency and resourceconservation.

A. Must-Have Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of environmental laws—Air Act, Water Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, ECconditions.
Hands-on experience in stack monitoring, AAQ monitoring, effluent monitoring, and wastemanagement.
Understanding of pollution control systems (ESP, Bag Filters, GCT, Scrubbers, ETP / STP).Experience in OCEMS operation and coordination with SPCB / CPCB.Ability to prepare environmental reports, returns, and documentation.B. Desired Competencies
