Responsibilities : CHS Nurses assist the CHS Physician with the management of CHS cases. CHS Nurses are typically the first point of contact for patients and their responsibilities are :
- triage incoming cases, including ascertaining the eligibility of requesting member and the type, level of complexity and urgency of the request.
- schedule patient calls with the appropriate CHS team member
- ensure that incoming questions or requests from existing patients are efficiently managed.
- provide patient advocacy services to ensure optimal outcomes.
- utilize CHS database and reference tools to identify top rated doctors, healthcare providers and hospitals.
- consolidate suggestions for addition of new specialists to the network provider list after positive experience with the firm clinicians for further vetting, credentialing and network addition.
- research medical conditions to help patients understand their medical situation.
- arrange medical record reviews.
- facilitate medical appointments and responses from medical providers. Provide advice and guidance on hospital transfers whereby the necessary logistics would be using the Client's emergency response vendor where relevant. assist with hospital discharge planning.
- assist the CHS Physician with administrative documentation.
- administrative patient intake responsibilities including ensuring participant consent has been signed and documented, including disclaimers regarding responsibility of the employee / patient to verify their healthcare benefits coverage, eligibility, insurer network, etc.
- ensure that case documentation is completed, and that policies and protocols are in place and updated accordingly.
- assist as necessary with awareness drives and related presentations regarding CHS services.
- manage all relevant aspects of patient clinical records to include filing, archiving, etc.
- answer incoming CHS telephone calls and manage outstanding messages for the team.
- assist with medical research.
Patient Care
Providing primary outpatient care, basic emergency medical care on the site to stabilize the patient, limited diagnostic testing, and assist in patient transfer by ambulance to designated medical facility.Administer first aid and treat minor illnesses.Provide nursing consultations and determine which cases need further consultation with the site Physician.Conduct hygiene inspections, infection control audits at a pre-determined frequency.Ensure consultation rooms are in appropriate conditionCheck all emergency equipment and ensure that they are in working conditionCheck all drugs and disposables inventory and ensure that none of these are beyond the expiry datesDocumentation of all medical cases and ensure correct and proper storage of medical recordsPerform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director-MS.Manage the delivery of competent and professional health services according to the International SOS standards.Assist with ensuring appropriate patient triage and flow within the clinic.Coordinate with the Assistance Centre teams on the procedures required and preparation of patients to facilitate evacuation.Staff Communication, Support & Training
Maintain a professional and supportive attitude towards all site staff.Maintain effective communication processes with all site staff.Train and mentor new staff on services and processes to be followed at the clinicFoster a positive attitude amongst staff and teams.Reporting
Maintaining the accuracy and deadlines for completion of all required reports and data.Maintain records and reports for all allocated responsibilities to ensure accountability and availability of information.Inventory Maintenance & Control
Ensure accuracy of site inventories is maintained in all areasDevelopment and maintenance of standard site inventories with agreed processes for justification of ordering medications and disposables outside of standard inventoryMaintain assets on site, both client and Intl.SOS, ensure that asset register is being maintained and duly updated.Ensure proper reporting of equipment movement beyond the applicable serviceability as mentioned in the manufacturer's booklet.Ensure calibration of equipment with help from Operations teamDocumentation / Communication
Attend, contribute to and report medical services activity at Operations meetings.Ensure that all other documentation to support activities is maintained as required by inventory, stock, accounting, or administration needs.Ensure that all procedures, policies, and company information are maintained to the latest date issued in accordance with the Continuous Quality Improvement policy.Ensure that the patient satisfaction survey is implemented.Provide any other tasks or responsibilities that may from time to time be requested by Operations Manager - Medical Services.General
Ensure that medical facilities are maintained to an operational standard of professional excellence.Maintain awareness of and comply with operating and internal procedures.Attend weekly and / or monthly meetings of medical and administration staff as directed by the Operations Manager - Medical Services to report on and discuss issues relating to the operation and improvement of services and activities.Ensuring all timesheet and payroll requirements are completed each pay period.Other Duties
