Purpose of Role

To support science teachers in conducting practical classes by preparing laboratory setups, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety and compliance with CBSE laboratory norms across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology labs.

CSA Science Lab Assistant (CBSE)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare science laboratories for practical classes as per the timetable.
• Arrange, issue, and collect laboratory apparatus, chemicals, specimens, and materials.
• Assist teachers during Physics, Chemistry, and Biology practical sessions.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning of all science laboratories.
• Ensure safe handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals and laboratory materials.
• Maintain laboratory stock registers, inventory records, and usage logs.
• Identify damaged or non-functional equipment and report for repair or replacement.
• Support practical examinations, internal assessments, and CBSE inspections.
• Ensure adherence to laboratory safety norms and student discipline during practicals.
• Assist in setting up charts, models, experiments, and demonstrations.
• Follow CBSE guidelines, school policies, and safety and hygiene standards.
• Perform any other duties assigned by school authorities.
