Job Title : Software Engineer / Technical Lead Healthcare Automation & Analytics

Location : Remote

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead to architect and drive the technology backbone of our operations. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of healthcare, automation, and analytics, shaping systems that deliver real-world impact.

What Youll Do :

As a Software Engineering Leader, you will :

  • Lead the technical design and development of internal platforms for medical billing automation and analytics.
  • Build tools to track :
  • Real-time claim status
  • Denial trends and root causes
  • Team productivity metrics
  • Revenue forecasting
  • Scrape, clean, and integrate data from :
  • Payer portals, clearinghouses, PMS systems (e.g., ECW)
  • Google Sheets and insurance websites
  • Automate billing workflows including claim submission, tracking, and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with the CTO and manage a team of 3 junior developers.
  • Define and document :
  • System architecture & design specifications
  • Test plans and QA processes
  • Security & compliance requirements
  • Establish secure, HIPAA-compliant data handling foundations.

Must-Have Skills :

  • Proven experience implementing automation to increase efficiency.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS.
  • Solid understanding of SQL, with hands-on knowledge of Google BigQuery and / or MongoDB.
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and related APIs.
  • Practical experience with web scraping and API integrations.
  • Ability to design scalable systems across multiple clinics / clients.
  • Strong grasp of unit testing, QA, and code review processes.
  • Excellent written communication : can produce clear design docs, test cases, and technical guides.
  • Flexibility to work across US time zones when needed.
  • Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Haves) :

  • Familiarity with ECW, Availity, or other PMS / medical billing tools.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or n8n.
  • Hands-on exposure to Docker, CI / CD pipelines, and modern deployment workflows.
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance, PHI data protection, and secure healthcare data systems.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, etc.).
  • Leadership & Ownership :

  • Manage and mentor a small but growing engineering team.
  • Own the technology roadmap and contribute to long-term architectural decisions.
  • Set up engineering processes, coding standards, and deployment best practices.
  • Work directly with the CTO and operations leadership to align technology with business needs.
