Product Engineer

We have an opportunity for Product Engineer for our plant (Flowserve Sanmar Pvt Ltd) located in Karapakkam.

Qualification : BE Mechanical

Expereince : 5 - 9 Years

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Design & Development

Develop and modify designs for mechanical seals, and related components.

Prepare engineering calculations, 3D models, and detailed drawings.

Ensure product designs meet Flowserve standards, industry codes (API, ANSI, ISO), and customer specifications.

2. Technical Support

Provide engineering support to sales, manufacturing, service centers, and customers.

Conduct root-cause failure analysis (RCFA) and recommend corrective actions.

Support bid proposals with technical clarifications and product selections.

3. Product Lifecycle Management

Maintain product documentation, BOMs, specifications, and engineering change notices (ECNs).

Lead product upgrades, redesigns, and standardization initiatives.

Assess and improve reliability, performance, and cost effectiveness.

4. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with global engineering teams, supply chain, vendors, and operations.

Support manufacturing with troubleshooting, process improvements, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM).

5. Quality & Compliance

Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality guidelines and Flowserve’s engineering procedures.

Support audits, documentation, and compliance activities.

Implement continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance product reliability.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or related field.

5 -9 years’ experience in Mechanical seal, or heavy engineering product environment.

Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, rotating equipment, and material selection.

Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD).

Understanding of API 610 / 682, ASME, ISO standards.

Preferred Skills

Experience in engineered-to-order (ETO) environments.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, fabrication).

Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP).

Good analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate with global teams.
