A Technical Consultant in Network and Firewall Operations is expected to possess deep expertise in firewalls, security appliances, dynamic DNS, load balancing, proxy services, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS). This should be supported by a strong foundational understanding of networking, particularly within Cisco environments. The role is highly technical and customer-facing, involving operational support, network and firewall governance, and end-to-end project delivery—from initial concept and scoping through to design and implementation.
Job Responsibilities :
- Act as a seasoned technical professional, demonstrating leadership and expertise in all engagements.
- Serve as an ENS stakeholder, promoting a unified regional "One Team" approach.
- Take ownership for operational excellence, ensuring accountability and high standards.
- Participate in and comply with established ENS engineering standards and practices.
- Lead the resolution of high-severity incidents, providing expert-level technical support as needed.
- Proactively monitor and manage ENS infrastructure and services, ensuring adherence to OLAs and KPIs.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure services meet agreed expectations and SLAs.
- Bring operational insights to enhance and elevate the capabilities of the ENS team.
- Contribute to the strategic direction and evolution of technologies through roadmap planning and technical insight.
- Ensure new solutions transition effectively into supportable services using the Ready-for-Service framework.
- Mentor and cross-train ENS team members to foster knowledge sharing and capability growth.
Job Requirements :
Degree holder in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related disciplines.Be considered as a network security expert, with deep subject matter expertise in a number of technologies and a broad understanding across network security and non-network technology.Min 8 years of hands-on experience of managing Network, Firewall and security products including but not limited :Palo Alto Firewalls including Panarama (VPN / IPS / Wildfire)ZScaler Cloud ProxiesF5 server load balancing and security technology (GTM / LTM / ASM / AFM)Excellent understanding of network security architecture, design and support.Excellent business scenes for a technical support environment.Proven Service Management (ITIL) experience, specifically incident, problem and change managementGood analytical skill and able to solve complicated problem logicallyGood interpersonal skills, communication skills, project management skills and vendor management skillsE xperience working in a ‘DevOps’ role and familiar with SDN, NFV, Cloud and Cloud Management Platforms, and demonstrable experience in integrating technologies through code and the use of APIs.Knowledge of supporting “ECN Connectivity” e.g. Radianz, Tradeweb, Bloomberg Trading etc.Knowledge of monitoring and analysis tools ( SolarWinds, Wireshark, etc).Knowledge of DNS & DHCP (IPAM).Experience of UNIX / Linux and scripting (Python / Ansible / Perl / Shell), Terraform and automation.
