Senior System Administrator Windows | Linux | VMware
Location : Gurugram (On-site)
About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator who can take ownership of our mixed infrastructure spanning on-prem datacenters and AWS. This role demands strong hands-on expertise in Windows, Linux, VMware, and enterprise-grade messaging systems, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Administer, support, and optimize Windows and Linux server environments across test and production systems.
- Drive security hardening, patching cycles, OS upgrades, and compliance requirements.
- Build and deliver solutions across both platforms based on business and operational needs.
- Manage and maintain IBM MQ environments, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of VMware infrastructure including provisioning, monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Handle routine system tasks such as backup operations, DR readiness, environment hygiene, and
configuration changes.
Collaborate with network and storage teams to resolve cross-platform issues.Develop automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, or Python to streamline operations.Participate in an on-call rotation to support a near 247 environment.Must-Have Skills & Experience :
6-8+ years of strong Windows Administration experience (AD, GPO, Terminal Services).8+ years of proven Linux system administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, or similar).8+ years working with VMware (ESXi, vCenter, vSphere).Solid foundation in networking concepts and storage fundamentals.Hands-on scripting experience in Bash, Python, and / or PowerShell.Experience managing highly available, mission-critical environments.Preferred / Added Advantages :
Deep knowledge of IBM MQ (major plus).Practical exposure to AWS cloud services.Experience with automation tools like Ansible.Understanding of NetApp storage and Red Hat clustering.Awareness of security tools, patch management, and infrastructure hardening practices.Familiarity with AWS security concepts and identity / governance models.Personal Attributes :
