Principal Cloud & Platform Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Cloud/DevOps Engineer to lead our platform evolution. You will be responsible for the high-level architecture of our multi-cloud ecosystem, overseeing the reliability of hundreds of microservices, and mentoring a global team of engineers. You are not just managing CI/CD; you are defining the standards for how we scale for the next decade.

Key Responsibilities

* Architectural Leadership: Design and implement robust, multi-cloud strategies (GCP, AWS, Azure) that support 99.99% availability for enterprise-scale traffic.

* Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Standardize global deployments using Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane to ensure consistency across multiple regions.

* Orchestration at Scale: Oversee large-scale Kubernetes fleets (GKE/EKS), focusing on service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), security hardening, and cost optimization.

* Strategic Automation: Beyond simple bots, develop internal developer platforms (IDP) to reduce friction and improve the 'time to production' for 20+ engineering squads.

* Security & Compliance: Lead DevSecOps initiatives, ensuring all cloud infrastructure meets SOC2, HIPAA, or GDPR standards through automated policy enforcement.

* Mentorship: Act as a technical pillar for the engineering organization, mentoring Senior and Lead engineers (like the profile provided) to maintain a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

* 10+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Architecture.

* Mastery of Kubernetes and container orchestration in high-concurrency environments.

* Expert-level knowledge of CI/CD ecosystem (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and Observability (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).

* Proven track record of managing infrastructure budgets exceeding $1M/year with a focus on FinOps.

* Certifications such as CKA/CKAD, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
