About the Role :
We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler with deep expertise in Snowflake and Data Vault 2.0 to support the development and migration of enterprise data solutions. You will be working as part of a collaborative team on a major data warehouse initiative with a focus on cloud transformation, enterprise data governance, and modeling best practices.
As a key member of the data architecture team, you will play a central role in designing, developing, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models, as well as implementing Data Vault 2.0 modeling frameworks for enterprise-grade Snowflake-based warehouses.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the Cox FTE team to build and optimize a Snowflake-based data warehouse to support BI, analytics, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Design and implement Data Vault 2.0-based data models using industry-standard tools like ERWIN, ER / Studio, or equivalent.
- Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture standards.
- Translate complex business requirements and rules into scalable data models and data mapping specifications for Snowflake.
- Support data migration efforts from legacy platforms (e.g., SQL Server) to Snowflake.
- Partner with data integration teams to provide guidance on metadata, lineage, and business rules translation.
- Ensure model compliance with enterprise standards, governance frameworks, and audit requirements.
- Provide coaching and guidance to development teams on data modeling best practices and repository tool usage.
- Define data ownership, obtain stakeholder approvals, and effectively communicate data models to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Analyze performance impacts of data models and identify opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience(Masters degree with 2+ years of experience also accepted. In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of relevant work experience required.)Minimum 3+ years of hands-on data modeling experience in enterprise data warehouse environments.Strong proficiency in data modeling standards, especially Data Vault 2.0, and experience implementing it in Snowflake.Experience with SQL Server, Snowflake, and Azure cloud data environments.Skilled in using modeling tools like ERWIN, ER / Studio, or equivalent.Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data integration pipelines.Proficient in SQL, with experience developing data mapping specifications for migration and integration.Excellent communication skills capable of translating abstract concepts into concrete data structures for varied audiences.Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in matrixed team environments and provide technical leadership.(ref : hirist.tech)
