Environment & Sustainability :-
- Develop & Lead Environment & Sustainability excellence initiatives across the region
- Develop, implement and monitor Environmental Programs and Environmental Standards.
- Lead the promotion, education and project support for habitat compensation, mitigation, and management.
- Develop governance mechanism around all the Environment, De-carbonization & ESG parameters
- Manage the reporting of ESG parameters to stakeholders and management.
- Review environmental assessments and environmental management plans, covering a broad range of issues (e.g., air quality, noise, ecology, water quality).
- Lead and guide the Business Units in development of environmental management plans and monitoring programs, in line with group requirement.
- Mentor, advise & provide assistance to regional and business unit managers/representatives on oceans protection and enhancement projects for new and existing including Ports & Terminals and logistics services.
- Understand potential environmental impacts and co-ordinate/provide support to business units to ensure that assessments are undertaken and appropriate plans for mitigation, compensation and monitoring are developed and implemented, as needed.
- Assist the regional team with the staff education and training development related to environmental matters.
- Perform technical reviews on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) as required.
- Manage the development of environmental monitoring and reporting program for all operating entities that have potential for environmental impacts.
- Monitor environmental incidents and provide technical assistance to business unit.
- Create, manage, and advise on environmental bulletin as required.
- Develop environmental programs, as required.
- Project manage emerging environmental priorities as assigned by group and regional teams.
- Plan and manage environmental due diligence assessments to assess risk and liability (e.g., for property acquisition).
- Ability to plan and manage budgets for environmental projects.
- Liaise with Regional Office departments (such as operations, engineering, business development, etc..) to support joint initiatives and projects.
Energy / Carbon Management:
- decarbonization strategy for becoming Carbon Net-Zero in line with the Group plan.
- Collaborate with the Global Energy & Environment team at the Head Office to monitor and enhance regional short- and long-term decarbonization plans based on the Group Strategy.
- Liaise and advise regional operating entities relating to energy reduction strategies.
- Improve and develop systems to monitor and track equipment energy efficiencies across the region
- Support and advice on the regional Carbon Management and Reduction Strategy. Identify opportunities and priorities.
- Support and participate in the development of energy reduction business cases within the region and business units.
- Lead and/or support electrification Proof of Concepts.
- Act as an ambassador for the organization at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with organizations Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following organizations Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
Audits & Inspection :-
- On a periodic basis undertake physical visits on various project sites to undertake Audits & inspection and verify compliance to the Corporate process, procedures and safety standards
- Through the regional safety heads, drive the following initiatives at the regional level –
- Routine QEHS site Inspections for Access staircase, Labour welfare area, Hot work permit, fabrication, fire hydrant, stairways, scaffolding & for others with approved checklists
- Routine surveillance to identify all safety deficiencies, prioritizing the deficiencies and ensuring all deficiencies are rectified on the basis of priority rating
Monitoring (through Regional Quality and Safety Heads / Project QHSE Manager/Coordinators)
- Monitor work at site to ensure that all safety measures and compliances are being observed
- Review the accident statistics and make appropriate recommendations for prevention of accidents
- Ensure that every accident and a 'near miss' is suitably communicated, investigated, and gaps in safety if any, are closed, so as to avoid recurrence of such incidents
- Monitor regulatory compliance
- Drive completion of periodic internal & external EHS audits, support in conducting root cause analysis in case of non- conformance (NC) and closure of NCs
Documentation & Training :-
- Responsible for Developing and maintaining safety manuals, Process, Procedures, Guidelines, Requirements standards
- Training skills to conduct trainings in corporate level covering all projects and to groom trainers from the existing HSE Team members in project.
- Impart training and education to all of employees in safety procedures and norms
- Create necessary MIS reports for management review & set up regular review with sites to address any issues
