The company manufactures, sells and services modular units and well-thought-out systems for the manufacturing and processing of plastics. Our product lines cover the entire spectrum : dosing & mixing, drying, crystallizing, conveying and storage as well as the corresponding control and automation technology. As a specialist for material management and a leading global provider in the plastic manufacturing and processing industry, we have unique know-how on all areas of materials handling and logistics management. The company is about to construct an own building in Chennai and move from the current location in early 2025.

Overview

The Managing Director (MD) is responsible for the overall strategic, financial, and operational leadership of the company. With a main focus on finance and production, the MD will ensure that the company achieves its financial goals, maintains operational excellence, and adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement the company's strategic plan with a strong emphasis on financial performance and production efficiency.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive dynamics to ensure long-term growth together with the Sales Director.
  • Financial Management
  • Oversee the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
  • Manage the company's capital structure, investment strategies, and financial risk management.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Production Oversight
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices in production planning, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics to track production efficiency and output quality.
  • Foster continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational excellence.
  • Conduct periodic comprehensive analysis and review on the production and business process.
  • Operational Management
  • Ensure effective implementation of operational policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments to align operations with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new technologies and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Enhance the operation efficiency, cutdown the manufacturing cost, and shorten cycle time.
  • Strong focus on Inventory and managing the best lowest possible no of turns.
  • Guide and implement sales KPI's and formulate strategies to ensure a Y-O-Y sustainable and profitable growth of the business operation in India.
  • Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive company culture that promotes innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Ensure appropriate training and development programs are in place to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and business forums.
  • Corporate Governance
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote high standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct.
  • Report to the Board of Directors on the company's performance and strategic direction.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education : MBA or equivalent advanced degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum 15 years of experience in senior management roles, with significant exposure to financial management and production operations.
  • Skills :
  • Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of corporate finance, financial planning, and analysis.
  • Proven track record in managing medium scale production operations.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to execute and deliver results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
