General Manager - Metal Trade

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced GM - Metal Trade to lead our metal trading business in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing non-ferrous trading across key international and domestic markets. Direct relationships with die-casting companies and leading OEMs will be an added advantage. The candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to build strategic connections between scrap and alloy manufacturers from Africa, the Middle East,the USA, and Europe, and buyers in East Asia. This role will oversee the development and execution of business plans, budgets, and financial forecasts in close coordination with senior management.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead bulk trading and operations of non-ferrous metals, including copper, aluminium, zinc, lead, nickel, and tin, overseeing international imports and exports.
• Manage in-house scrap requirements for the metal recycling plant, ensuring just-in-time stock of input materials and profitable sales of finished goods to OEMs and die-casting companies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, manufacturers, processors, shippers, and financial institutions, ensuring smooth contract negotiations and execution.
• Monitor global metal markets, trading risks, and international economic / political developments, providing timely updates and implementing proactive trading strategies.
• Oversee daily trading activities, reporting on transactions, financial performance, and profitability.
• Develop and implement business plans, policies, and budgets for metal trading operations to achieve organisational goals.
• Maintain compliance with industry regulations, credit risk policies, quality standards, and supply chain requirements.
• Apply metallurgical expertise to assess metal properties, grades, and applications for quality sourcing and accurate trade execution.
• Demonstrate strategic thinking, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills while managing multiple stakeholders.
