Job Summary :
The Level 1 Network Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues. This role involves monitoring network performance, resolving connectivity problems, and ensuring that the campus network is stable and well connected to the globe.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Respond to and resolve internet connectivity by logging support tickets within defined SLAs.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose basic LAN / WAN connectivity issues.
- Perform routine network maintenance and assist in implementing network changes.
- Support configuration and installation of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points under supervision.
- Maintain network documentation including topology diagrams, device inventory, and configuration records.
- Assist in network upgrades activities, patch management, and device replacements.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network-related issues.
- Provide user support for VPN, Wi-Fi connectivity, and IP configuration.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (CS / IT / ENTC) or related field.Min 2 years of experience in network support or administration.Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, OSPF, etc.).Familiarity with Cisco or similar network devices and tools.Good understanding of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred Certifications :
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)Juniper JNCIA or equivalent
