Job description

Job Responsibilities :

  • Formulating, suggesting, and managing data-driven projects which are geared at furthering the business's interests.
  • Collating and cleaning data from various entities for later use by junior data scientists.
  • Delegating tasks to Junior Data Scientists in order to realize the successful completion of projects.
  • Monitoring the performance of Junior Data Scientists and providing them with practical guidance, as needed.
  • Selecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insights.
  • Cross-validating models to ensure their generalizability.
  • Producing and disseminating non-technical reports that detail the successes and limitations of each project.
  • Suggesting ways in which insights obtained might be used to inform business strategies.
  • Staying informed about developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure that outputs are always relevant.

Skills And Qualifications :

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently work with cross-functional teams across the globe and to present information to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills - ability to develop hypotheses, understand and interpret data within the context of the product / business - solve problems and distill data into actionable recommendations. Intellectual and analytical curiosity - an initiative to dig into the why what & how.
  • Strong number crunching and quantitative skills. Basic proficiency on ML techniques - clustering, decision tree learning, naïve Bayes, support vector machines, Q-learning, the temporal difference, adversarial networks, and neural networks would be a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint. Good hands-on experience in SQL. Experience in Text Analytics, Natural Language Processing
  • Experience within Google Analytics, Optimize, Tag Manager, and other Google Suite tools. Experience in Python / R or any equivalent tools is mandatory.
  • Understanding of Business analytics tools & statistical programming languages. An advanced degree in Data Science / Data Analytics or Math / Statistics would be preferred.
