Electrical Draughtsman - MEP

Job Summary : The Electrical Draughtsman will play a key role in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) department of the company, specifically focusing on electrical design and drafting. The role involves creating technical drawings, layouts, and plans for electrical systems within MEP projects. The Electrical Draughtsman will work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and detailed electrical designs.

Responsibilities :

• Electrical Design and Drafting :
• Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and technical documentation to create accurate electrical plans.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and incorporate design changes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in electrical design.
• MEP Coordination :
• Coordinate with mechanical and plumbing draughtsmen to ensure effective integration of electrical systems within the overall MEP design.
• Review and incorporate MEP coordination drawings to resolve clashes and ensure system compatibility.
• Participate in design coordination meetings to discuss and address interdisciplinary issues.
• Documentation and Technical Support :
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including equipment schedules, panel schedules, and wiring diagrams.
• Assist in generating material take-offs and quantity calculations for electrical components.
• Collaborate with procurement and project management teams to support the procurement process.
• Provide technical support and clarification to contractors, subcontractors, and installation teams during construction.
• Quality Assurance :
• Perform quality checks on electrical drawings and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
• Identify and resolve design inconsistencies or errors, collaborating with engineers and project teams as necessary.
• Follow internal quality control procedures and adhere to established drafting standards.
• Continuous Learning and Development :
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements related to electrical design and drafting.
• Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills in CAD software and electrical design principles.
• Contribute to the improvement of drafting processes and workflows.
