The Networking and Hardware Professional will be responsible for maintaining and managing the school’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless network connectivity, hardware functionality, data security, and efficient use of technology across all academic and administrative operations. The role demands both technical expertise and proactive problem-solving to support a modern, technology-enabled learning environment.
Key Roles and Responsibilities :
1. Network Management :
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN / WAN networks, Wi-Fi systems, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues promptly.
- Ensure secure and reliable internet access for academic and administrative needs.
- Manage bandwidth allocation and optimize network performance.
2. Hardware & System Maintenance :
Install, repair, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, biometric systems, and other IT equipment.Conduct regular preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.Maintain an updated inventory of all hardware assets.3. Server & Data Management :
Assist in maintaining school servers, data backups, and storage systems.Implement and monitor data security protocols, including antivirus and firewall management.Support cloud-based systems and ensure data integrity across all platforms.4. Technical Support :
Provide on-site and remote support to teachers, students, and administrative staff for hardware and connectivity issues.Coordinate with vendors for technical support and equipment servicing.Assist in setting up IT infrastructure for school events, online classes, and digital assessments.5. IT Integration & Development :
Support implementation of educational technology tools and software.Assist in setting up smart classrooms and ensuring the smooth functioning of digital learning tools.Collaborate with the academic team to ensure seamless use of IT in teaching and learning.Qualifications and Skills :
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in networking and hardware maintenance (preferably in an educational institution).Strong knowledge of network configuration, hardware troubleshooting, and data security.Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and cloud-based platforms (Google Workspace / Microsoft 365).Excellent problem-solving, communication, and multitasking abilities.
