Job Summary :
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Legal Officer – Redevelopment to manage the legal aspects of our housing society redevelopment projects. The ideal candidate will oversee end-to-end legal documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide strategic legal support to safeguard the company’s interests throughout all phases of redevelopment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Draft, vet, and finalize Redevelopment Agreements, Development Agreements, Power of Attorney, Supplementary Agreements, and Tripartite Agreements with societies and individual members.
- Conduct title verification and due diligence on redevelopment properties to ensure clear ownership and compliance with applicable laws.
- Handle liaison and coordination with housing societies, advocates, architects, and government authorities (SRA, MHADA, MCGM, etc.) for approvals and documentation.
- Review and monitor compliance with RERA, MOFA, DCR, MRTP Act, and other statutory regulations applicable to redevelopment.
- Provide legal opinions on project feasibility, risks, and structure of redevelopment deals.
- Represent the developer in society meetings, negotiations, and member interactions from a legal perspective.
- Draft and issue legal notices, consents, undertakings, and affidavits as required.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel for litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters.
- Support internal teams (liaison, projects, sales, and finance) with legal inputs during project execution.
- Maintain proper documentation, tracking, and record management for all redevelopment-related legal activities.
Qualifications & Experience :
LLB / LLM from a recognized university.Minimum 7–10 years of experience in real estate / redevelopment law, preferably on the developer side.Strong understanding of SRA, MHADA, Co-operative Housing Society Acts, and Municipal laws.Experience in handling multiple redevelopment projects from inception to agreement execution.Skills & Attributes :
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.Sound knowledge of property and redevelopment laws in Maharashtra (especially Mumbai).Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems.Ability to work independently and in coordination with cross-functional teams.Preferred Background :
Prior experience working with real estate developers or builders on society redevelopment projects.Exposure to RERA compliance, title clearance, and registration processes.Working knowledge of court procedures and statutory approvals related to redevelopment.
