Job descriptionLead and manage credit risk assessment for the region's portfolio to ensure minimal defaults and healthy asset quality. Monitor and oversee loan disbursements, recoveries, and repayments, ensuring alignment with company standards and policies. Conduct in-depth credit analysis and due diligence on loan applications and borrower profiles. Collaborate with field teams to address and resolve credit-related issues and to implement risk mitigation strategies. Ensure full compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining documentation and audit readiness. Generate regular reports on portfolio performance, risk metrics, and credit trends for senior management review. Mentor and guide credit officers and operational staff within the region to enhance credit assessment capabilities. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field is mandatory. Master's is a plus. Minimum 5 to 6 years of professional experience in credit management or credit risk roles, preferably within microfinance, banking, or financial services sectors. Proven track record of managing regional or branch-level credit portfolios with significant exposure to retail or microfinance lending. Experience in credit risk assessment, loan underwriting, and portfolio quality management. Familiarity with JLG or similar group lending models is highly desirable. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret financial data and credit reports. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams, borrowers, and regulatory authorities. Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities with keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a cross-functional team. Proficiency in relevant financial software and MS Office application.
