2. Location : (Mumbai)

3. Working days : Its a 5 day office

4. Job Role : The legacy Fine Chemicals (FCH) business as company has traditionally focused on sourcing chemicals from India - mainly intermediates - based on customer requests. To drive growth, the Sales Manager Fine Chemicals (Indian Subcontinent) will focus on promoting strategic product groups to target customers while reinforcing the current model.

Fine chemicals encompasses following main categories : API, Pharma intermediates and synthesis as part of the global Fine Chemicals (FCH) team, this role will focus on Sales for the India Fine Chemicals portfolio. With the aim of maximising the benefits to our Pharma customers, you will work with the latest technology from our suppliers and principals to meet our customers requirements for Pharmaceutical Fine Chemicals industry.

Primary Objectives :

To achieve sales budget in terms of volume, value, and operating profit within dedicated accounts

To be a primary contact for FCH customers within the region set and to establish company as a major solutions provider for these applications

To support product sourcing based on customer inquiries

To identify, connect with and develop new customers, thereby delivering incremental sales, and profit

To consistently evaluate potential opportunities in untapped strategic growth markets within the pharma manufacturing and CDMO sectors, across the assigned territory

A key member of the wider Global FCH Team with participation in projects and initiatives beyond India

Support the company principal and product management

Main Responsibilities :

  • Proactively develop relationships with customers, ensuring regular customer visits, and where appropriate collaborate with both the Sales Director and Suppliers to achieve the business
  • Accountable for sales activities within the area of the Indian subcontinent
  • Responsible for delivering the regional annual budget in co-operation with the Country Head India and provide timely sales forecasts as required. Analysing variances to the budget and identify actions to remedy any short fall
  • Key account management, based on our existing global customer base
  • Principal management and reporting
  • Identifying new, promising raw materials and product applications
  • Grow, manage and execute project pipeline to close sales opportunities effectively and efficiently
  • At all times ensuring that activities are visible, planned and output is documented in the CRM system :
  • Sales itinerary to be planned and entered
  • All customer contacts to be documented with visit, phone or Teams reports
  • Sample request to be raised through the CRM system and are documented accordingly
  • Product quotations to be raised and copied to the relevant CSR
  • Reporting competitor information and pricing and timely communicating markets or business threats to management
  • Market research including market surveys
  • To ensure customer sales price lists and quotations are updated with supporting data in the applicable costing program

Other duties :

  • Support annual budgeting and monthly reporting for FCH in the assigned territory
  • Represent company at Fine Chemicals relevant exhibitions
  • Regular travel to visit customers across the Indian subcontinent
  • Key Skills / Experience :

    Essential :

  • A highly motivated professional with hands of experience working within the FCH related industry
  • A comprehensive understanding of the technology, innovation and regulatory trends that are driving these markets
  • An effective communicator with the proven ability to negotiate and close deals
  • Demonstrated experience of working at all customer levels
  • The ability to lead on technical discussions and form effective relationships with technical teams
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills
  • Driven to deliver on an individual level and part of a team
  • Willingness to travel, largely within the assigned sales territory, and at times abroad
  • Good IT skills
