Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced L3 Major Incident Network Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco Meraki and Fortinet firewalls, along with a solid foundation in enterprise networking. This role will focus on high-severity incident management, complex troubleshooting, and proactive improvements to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable network operations. The ideal candidate has proven hands-on experience across WAN, LAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN, and thrives in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as L3 escalation point for all network-related Major Incidents (MIM) and Priority-1 (P1) incidents.
Own and manage Meraki infrastructure (APs, switches, firewalls, MX, MS, MR, SD-WAN).
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer).
Manage and optimize WAN, LAN, and WLAN networks across distributed enterprise sites.
Handle SD-WAN environments (Meraki and Fortinet) including routing, failover, and performance tuning.
Lead bridge calls / war rooms during critical network outages or security incidents.
Collaborate with vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, carriers / ISPs) for escalations and service restorations.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and produce detailed post-incident reports.
Drive proactive network monitoring, tuning alerts and dashboards (ScienceLogic, SolarWinds, etc.).
Work closely with security teams to ensure network compliance, access control, and VPN security.
Participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 critical support.
Qualifications
1-2 years’ experience with Major Incident Management.
5–8 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise environments.
Mandatory : Strong experience with Cisco Meraki (SD-WAN, MX, MS, MR platforms).
Proven expertise with Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate, VPNs, policy configuration, clustering, HA).
Solid understanding of routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, QoS).
Experience in WAN / LAN / WLAN enterprise environments, with multi-site deployments.
Familiarity with ITIL Incident & Problem Management processes.
Experience with monitoring tools (ScienceLogic, SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
Industry certifications preferred : Cisco CCNP Enterprise / CCNP Security (or Meraki-specific certs like CMNA, CMNO); Fortinet NSE 4 / 5 / 6 or higher.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with ability to lead during outages.
