1.3D Design & Modeling
o Design and develop 3D models of automation equipment, machines, and
components using CATIA or similar Autocad,Solidwork CAD software.
o Prepare assemblies and sub-assemblies with proper constraints and motion
studies.
2. 2D Drafting &Detailing
o Generate detailed 2D manufacturing drawings including dimensions,
tolerances (GD&T), BOMs, and material specs.
o Ensure drawings are aligned with manufacturing and assembly requirements.
3. Concept Development
o Work closely with the R&D and sales teams to conceptualize automation
solutions based on customer needs.
o Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews.
4. Product Customization
o Modify standard designs based on client-specific requirements or production
feedback.
5. Interdepartmental Coordination
o Coordinate with production, purchase, electrical, and controls departments for
seamless execution of projects.
o Provide support during machine assembly, installation, and commissioning.
6. Design Validation & Simulation
o Perform basic design validation using motion simulation or load checks in
CAD.
o Ensure product safety, reliability, and manufacturability.
7. Documentation & BOM Management
o Maintain organized project documentation including BOMs, part lists, and
revision control.
o Use PDM / PLM tools if available.
8. Client Support & Troubleshooting
o Support onsite installation or testing teams with design clarifications.
o Address client feedback and incorporate necessary design improvements.
9. Compliance & Standards
o Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards and company internal
guidelines.
o Understand CE marking, safety standards, and ergonomic considerations for
machine design.
10. Continuous Improvement
Take initiative for design process improvements, cost reduction, and product
optimization.
