We are Looking for a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills who thrives in a collaborative team environment to lead the management (Maintain, Support, Day 2 Ops) and migration of workloads from VMware to a Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization platform .
We are looking for two tiers of expert consultants— Senior and Principal —to join our team for 6 months project.
Key Responsibilities :
- Platform Management : Maintain, automate, monitor, and Day 2 Ops to our production-grade RedHat OpenShift Container Platform with the OpenShift Virtualization operator.
- VM Migration : Lead and execute the migration of virtual servers from VMware vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization using tools like `virt-v2v` and CDI (Containerized Data Importer).
- Performance & Optimization : Proactively monitor platform health, performance, and capacity. Perform tuning and optimization of nodes, storage, and networks for virtualized workloads.
- Troubleshooting : Serve as the highest level of escalation for diagnosing and resolving complex issues related to OpenShift Virtualization, KubeVirt, CNI (e.g., OVNKubernetes), and storage (CSI).
- Security & Compliance : Implement and maintain security best practices for the platform, including hardening, role-based access control (RBAC), and network policies.
- Disaster Recovery : Design and implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for both containerized and virtualized workloads.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Terraform, or Golang to manage the platform efficiently.
(Principal Level) : Architect the platform strategy, define migration roadmaps, and provide technical leadership and mentor for senior engineers and other team members.
Mandatory Qualifications :
Excellent communication skills for collaboration and knowledge sharing in must.6+ (Senior) or 8+ (Principal) years of infrastructure engineering experience.Must have 2+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization in production.Deep expertise in OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x+) and Kubernetes core concepts.Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible Automation Platform , TerraformMust be experienced in Day 2 Operations and Troubleshooting.Strong understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals : Pods, Deployments, Stateful Sets, Services, Networking, Storage, etc.Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS) including system administration, kernel tuning, and troubleshooting.Solid knowledge of container technology (Docker, CRI-O).Significant Advantage :
Expert-level VMware vSphere knowledge.Direct experience migrating VMs from VMware to OpenShift Virtualization.Scripting skills (Bash, Python, Go) and Red Hat certifications .Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana).Red Hat certifications (e.g., RHCE, CKA, CKAD, Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization).Contract Details : Initial 6-month full-time contract with a high likelihood of extension based on performance and project needs.
