Rust Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain efficient, memory-safe, and high-performance applications using Rust .
• Apply ownership and borrowing principles to ensure optimal memory management and data safety.
• Implement robust error handling mechanisms using Rust’s Result, Option, and custom error types.
• Design and leverage strong type systems , modules , and crates to build modular, reusable components.
• Utilise smart pointers (Box, Rc, Arc, RefCell) and collections (Vec, HashMap, etc.) effectively for optimised data handling.
• Employ iterators , closures , and higher-order functions to write concise and expressive code.
• Implement concurrency and parallelism using threads , channels , sync , Send , Mutex , and RwLock traits.
• Safely integrate unsafe code and manage pinning when working with low-level memory or FFI operations.
• Use the Rust toolchain (rustc, cargo, rustup) for building, testing, and managing project dependencies.
• Apply advanced testing and debugging techniques to ensure code quality, performance, and reliability.
• Implement object-oriented principles and design patterns where appropriate for maintainable architecture.
• Develop and optimize kernel APIs and perform integrations with operating system kernels for low-level systems functionality.
