Job Title : Linux Administrator (Level 3)

Role Overview
The Level 3 Linux Administrator is responsible for advanced administration, optimization, and troubleshooting of Linux systems in enterprise environments. With over 10 years of experience, this role demands deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage complex systems and processes independently.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced System Administration :
- Perform L3 operating system administration activities for Linux servers in both physical and virtual environments.
- Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6, 7.x) and Red Hat clusters, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine scheduled tasks to ensure system reliability.
Incident and Problem Management :
Handle escalated incidents and complex issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.Analyze recurring problems and implement long-term solutions to improve system stability.Configuration and Optimization :
Configure and optimize Linux systems for enterprise workloads, including SAP and other critical applications.Implement security compliance measures and regularly audit security controls.Backup and Disaster Recovery :
Manage enterprise backups and disaster recovery solutions for Linux systems.Develop and implement strategies for data lifecycle management and system recovery.Documentation and Reporting :
Draft and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, changes, and incidents.Provide regular reports on system performance, compliance, and improvement initiatives.Collaboration and Leadership :
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux systems within the enterprise architecture.Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance to the team.Middleware and Database Integration :
Collaborate with database and middleware teams to optimize application performance and ensure compatibility with Linux systems.Support WebLogic Server domains and Oracle Real Application Clusters as required.Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Expertise :
Extensive knowledge of Linux technologies, including RHEL 6, 7.x, and Red Hat clusters.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash for automation and system management.Thorough understanding of TCP / IP fundamentals, DNS, FTP, SSH, and general networking technologies.Certifications :
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification.ITIL certification is preferred for process-driven environments.Soft Skills :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities.Ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Behavioral Competencies
