NXP's Wireless Connectivity DSP team plays a pivotal role in shaping the system-level performance and optimization of next-generation WLAN and Narrowband (Bluetooth and IEEE 802.15.4) transceivers. This team drives cross-layer tuning, PHY algorithm development, digital verification, and silicon bring-up for NXP's connectivity solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate post-tapeout silicon performance in both cabled and over-the-air (OTA) environments, focusing on PHY metrics
- Initial validation of new physical layer standards / features and enhancements
- Analyze bring-up data, identify root causes of performance gaps, and propose design enhancements by applying wireless communications theory concepts
- Build system-level models and conduct simulations using C / C++, Python, and MATLAB to characterize / improve PHY behavior and performance
- Collaborate with design teams to translate algorithmic concepts into efficient hardware implementations, develop design-level workarounds, and support verification and validation activities
