Requirements

This is a key leadership role accountable for the end-to-end delivery of application development projects and programs within the Clinical domain . The position requires a visionary technology leader with proven expertise in the US Healthcare Payer industry , particularly in areas such as Utilization Management, Care Management, and Provider Collaboration .

The role involves leading application development, modernization, and delivery teams , ensuring projects meet business objectives, performance targets, and quality standards. Operating in a matrixed, global environment , the Director will collaborate closely with US-based counterparts , enterprise architecture, quality assurance, and business stakeholders to achieve strategic alignment and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

  • Provide strategic direction and inspire a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and manage a team of Developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts , overseeing approximately 60 total resources.
  • Conduct performance reviews , offer coaching and mentoring, and support professional development initiatives.
  • Identify capability gaps within the team and implement targeted development strategies.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing through internal documentation and reusable assets.

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Oversee the successful delivery of application development projects within the Clinical domain, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Drive project execution with a proactive approach to risk identification, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet high-quality and compliance standards while aligning with organizational goals.
  • Resource & Capacity Planning

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive resource allocation and capacity plans , optimizing utilization across multiple initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to define project priorities and align resource strategies accordingly.
  • Manage forecasting and workload distribution to meet both short-term and long-term delivery objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with US counterparts, senior leadership, and internal business partners .
  • Act as a trusted advisor, translating technical updates into business-relevant insights.
  • Present regular status updates, performance reports, and risk assessments to leadership teams.
  • Technical Strategy & Innovation

  • Lead technical planning and implementation for solutions involving PEGA, healthcare frameworks, and vendor integrations.
  • Contribute to defining the IT strategy and roadmap for the Clinical and Provider domains.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices in the healthcare IT space.
  • Implement Pega Blueprints leveraging Generative AI to accelerate digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop automation frameworks and modernization tools to enhance efficiency and system quality.
  • Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of IT experience , including extensive delivery leadership in the US Healthcare Payer industry .
  • Deep domain knowledge in Clinical operations – including Utilization Management and Care Management .
  • Strong experience managing application development and modernization programs .
  • Proven expertise in Agile methodologies , demand and capacity planning , and vendor management .
  • Sound understanding of technologies such as Mainframe, Java, APIs, and PEGA .
  • Familiarity with data exchange standards (HL7, CCD, FHIR, X12) and healthcare interoperability concepts.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on PEGA application development experience .
  • Pega Certified Senior Systems Architect (CSSA) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Pega Healthcare Framework or Customer Decision Hub .
