Krishna Defence is expanding its robotics team to develop autonomous ground vehicles and underwater drone platforms for key defence and industrial applications. This role focuses on mechanical and electrical design of robotic systems and applications, working closely with vendors and suppliers to bring innovative concepts to reality.
Core Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems for autonomous ground and underwater robotic platforms, including structural components, actuator systems, and power distribution networks.Create detailed CAD models and technical drawings using industry-standard software for mechanical assemblies, electrical layouts, and system integration.Design and specify electromechanical components including motors, actuators, sensors, controllers, and power systems for robotic applications.Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for component sourcing, technical specifications, and application development support throughout the design and manufacturing process.Develop prototypes and conduct testing of mechanical and electrical subsystems to validate design concepts and performance requirements.Integrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic components into cohesive robotic systems ensuring optimal functionality and reliability.Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including design specifications, assembly instructions, BOM (Bill of Materials), and vendor communication records.Support manufacturing and assembly processes by working closely with production teams and external partners to ensure design intent is maintained.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering .1–2 years' experience in mechanical and electrical design, preferably in robotics, automation, or mechatronic systems.Strong CAD proficiency using SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar software for 3D modeling and technical drawing creation.Understanding of mechanical engineering principles including statics, dynamics, materials science, and design for manufacturing (DFM).Knowledge of electrical systems design including circuit design, power distribution, motor control, and electronic component selection.Experience with electromechanical system integration and understanding of sensors, actuators, and control interfaces.Hands-on prototyping experience with fabrication techniques, assembly processes, and testing methodologies.Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawing standards.Understanding of robotics fundamentals including kinematics, motion control, and system architecture.Strong communication skills for effective vendor interaction and technical documentation.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in design and analysis work.Preferred Experience
Experience interacting with vendors for application development, component sourcing, and technical collaboration will be a significant advantage.Background in autonomous systems , mobile robotics , or underwater vehicle design .Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and electronic assembly.Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for defence or marine applications.Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or simulation software for design validation.Understanding of PCB design and embedded systems integration .Project experience involving cross-functional teams and supplier management .Application GuidanceCandidates should highlight mechanical and electrical design projects , prototyping experiences , and any vendor collaboration work —particularly those involving robotic systems, mechatronic applications, or autonomous platforms. Include examples of CAD work, design portfolios, or technical projects that demonstrate your ability to translate concepts into functional hardware solutions.
