Laboratory Technician - Physics

Position OverviewThe Physics Lab Technician will support faculty and students in the smooth functioning of undergraduate physics laboratories. The role involves maintaining and calibrating lab equipment, assisting during practical sessions, ensuring safety compliance, and contributing to departmental documentation for accreditation processes.Key Responsibilities- Support faculty during physics laboratory sessions and student experiments.- Maintain, calibrate, and manage laboratory instruments, apparatus, and consumables.- Assist students in conducting experiments, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth lab operations.- Coordinate with faculty for lab upgrades, maintenance, and procurements.- Maintain departmental records, inventory, and accreditation-related data.Desired Skills & Attributes- Strong technical knowledge and interest in physics experiments.- Good organizational and record maintenance skills.- Effective communication with patience and a problem-solving approach.- Team-oriented with adaptability to dynamic academic needs.- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.).Education & Experience- Qualification : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics (preferred).- Experience : Prior experience in an academic or research laboratory is desirable.
