Role Description

Kimbal is looking for an Asst. Director / Sr. Manager – COO’s Office to work closely with the COO to oversee daily operations, drive cross-functional initiatives, and ensure operational excellence across Procurement, Production, Quality, SCM, and Maintenance functions. This role is both strategic and execution-focused, requiring the candidate to manage projects, track key operational metrics, and spearhead process improvements that directly impact Kimbal’s growth and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the COO in monitoring and aligning daily operations with strategic organizational goals.
  • Support the design and execution of strategic initiatives such as OEE improvement, Vendor OTIF performance, New Product Introductions, and 6-Sigma Quality programs.
  • Conduct research, analyse best practices, and develop insights to guide both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Manage cross-functional projects ensuring on-time and in-scope delivery, collaborating with teams across Procurement, Production, Sales, and Engineering.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret data to support high-level decision making.
  • Implement risk assessment frameworks and conduct scenario analysis to proactively mitigate operational risks.
  • Key Projects & Initiatives

  • Monitor and analyse operational performance metrics, identify improvement areas, and coordinate with function heads for execution.
  • Lead Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis to optimize processes within Kimbal and with supplier partners.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring stakeholder alignment and execution discipline.
  • Prepare and present dashboards, reports, and performance updates to senior leadership and the COO.
  • Job Requirements

    Qualifications

  • MBA from a top-tier IIM or equivalent prestigious business school, specializing in Operations Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related field) from a reputed institution.
  • Experience & Skills

  • 8–12 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, with strong exposure to process optimization, performance improvement, and strategy execution.
  • Proven experience as either an internal / external consultant or functional manager driving operational excellence.
  • Strong program management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation abilities.
