Key responsibilities

Oversee accounting operations : Manage day-to-day activities like accounts payable / receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll processing.

Financial reporting : Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with standards like GAAP.

Financial analysis : Analyze financial information to identify trends, variances, and opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement.

Budgeting and forecasting : Work with department heads to develop and manage the budget and track performance against it.

Audits and compliance : Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with all relevant tax and regulatory requirements.

Internal controls : Develop and implement internal controls and policies to safeguard assets and maintain data integrity.

Team leadership : Provide guidance, training, and performance reviews for junior accounting staff.

Process improvement : Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency and spending.

Year-end close : Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.

Typical requirements
