Job Description :
Video Editor and Photographer is responsible for capturing and editing both still and moving images to create engaging content in the University. Key responsibilities include planning and executing photo / video shoots, operating and maintaining equipment, editing raw footage into final cuts with graphics and sound, and collaborating with creative teams to align with University goals.
Responsibilities
- Capture content : Shoot high-quality photographs and videos, and plan / set up shoots by managing cameras, lighting, and props.
- Edit and assemble : Trim footage, organize digital files, and splice sequences together to create rough and final cuts. Add graphics, music, sound effects, and visual effects to enhance the final product.
- Ensure quality : Make sure the final output is seamless, logically sequenced, and meets technical specifications for color correction, lighting, and overall visual quality.
- Collaborate with teams : Work with Higher Management Teams, Faculties, University Staff and other stakeholders to understand the project's vision and deliver on project requirements.
- Manage equipment : Operate and maintain all photography and video equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
- Maintain archives : Manage and organize video archives and files.
- Stay updated : Stay current with new editing techniques, software, and industry trends to improve efficiency and creative output.
Qualifications and skills
Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and photo editing software (e.g., Photoshop).Strong technical knowledge of cameras, lenses, lighting, and other production equipment.Excellent eye for composition, lighting, and color.Strong understanding of video editing principles, such as pacing, narrative, and sound balancing.Creative and detail-oriented with a strong ability to tell a visual story.Good communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlinesSkills Required
