Job Summary :
The Shift Incharge QC is responsible for overseeing the quality control processes during their assigned shift. This includes managing the QC team ensuring that all products meet the company s quality standards monitoring and documenting quality performance and ensuring that the production line operates smoothly and efficiently. The Shift Incharge QC plays a crucial role in maintaining product quality minimizing defects and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Team Supervision :
- Lead and supervise a team of QC inspectors during the assigned shift.
- Ensure team members are adequately trained and equipped to perform quality inspections.
- Assign tasks and monitor the performance of QC staff to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.
- Quality Control Monitoring :
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials inprocess production and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Implement and enforce the use of quality control measures including inspection criteria test methods and documentation practices.
- Monitor production processes for adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality specifications.
- Address any quality issues promptly identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections tests and quality control activities.
- Prepare shift reports that document QC performance nonconformities and any actions taken.
- Ensure proper documentation of any deviations from quality standards and communicate these issues to the Quality Control Manager or relevant departments.
- Training and Development :
- Train and mentor new and existing team members on QC procedures equipment and safety protocols.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to suggest quality enhancements.
- Compliance and Auditing :
- Ensure that all QC activities comply with company policies industry regulations and safety standards.
- Assist in internal and external audits providing required documentation and supporting evidence for compliance.
- Problem Solving and Decision Making :
- Identify trends in quality issues and collaborate with other departments (e.g. production maintenance) to address systemic problems.
- Take prompt action to resolve any qualityrelated issues during the shift including stopping production when necessary.
- Process Improvement :
- Suggest improvements to existing quality control processes based on observations and feedback.
- Implement improvements to reduce waste improve product quality and streamline workflows.
Qualifications and Requirements :
Education :Bachelor s degreeCertifications in quality management (e.g. Six Sigma ISO) are a plus.Experience :Minimum 25 years of experience in quality control with at least 12 years in a supervisory role.Experience in industryspecific context e.g. manufacturing pharmaceuticals food processing preferred.Skills :Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies tools and techniques (e.g. SPC root cause analysis testing methods).Proficient in using quality control equipment and software.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.spc,quality control equipment,leadership,problem-solving abilities,manufacturing,analytical skills,quality control,quality control methodologies,root cause analysis,testing methods,qc tools,team management
