Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in urban design or urban planning to lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage client relationships, and drive successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will bring strategic design thinking, leadership capability, and proven experience in managing proposals, bids, schedules, and resources within an engineering design consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management & Delivery
Lead end-to-end project management for urban planning, urban design, TOD, master planning, or infrastructure-led design projects.
Prepare and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs aligned with client expectations and organizational standards.
Conduct regular project reviews, risk assessments, and mitigation planning.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including architecture, infrastructure engineering, transport planning, environment, and GIS.
2. Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, government agencies, and external partners.
Facilitate stakeholder consultations, presentations, and progress meetings.
Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to support business continuity and growth.
Translate client needs into actionable project briefs and deliverables.
3. Team Leadership & Coordination
Manage and mentor multidisciplinary team members, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and deadlines.
Foster a collaborative, solution-oriented team environment.
Oversee quality assurance processes for reports, drawings, presentations, and deliverables.
4. Business Development, Bidding & Proposal Management
Lead preparation of technical proposals, EOIs, and RFP responses for government and private sector clients.
Work closely with business development teams to identify opportunities and strategize winning approaches.
Develop project methodologies, work plans, staffing plans, and commercial proposals.
Present project and technical concepts during bid evaluations or client interviews.
5. Technical Expertise & Strategic Input
Provide subject-matter expertise in urban planning / urban design, feasibility studies, development strategies, statutory planning processes, and policy frameworks.
Contribute to design reviews, concept development, and analytical assessments.
Support internal process improvements, innovation initiatives, and knowledge development.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related discipline.
10+ years of relevant experience in consulting, engineering design firms, or multidisciplinary planning environments.
Proven experience in project management for large-scale planning or design projects.
Strong client-facing skills with experience managing government, private sector, or international clients.
Demonstrated ability to lead proposals, manage teams, and oversee complex deliverables.
Proficiency in planning and design tools (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite).
Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
