Job description

About the Role :

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager - Procurement to lead sourcing, vendor management, and cost optimization initiatives. The role involves managing end-to-end procurement of materials, ensuring timely availability, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage end-to-end procurement for raw materials, consumables, packaging, and services.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships; evaluate and onboard new vendors.
  • Conduct negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings.
  • Ensure timely issuance of purchase orders and delivery of materials.
  • Coordinate with production, planning, and finance for smooth supply chain operations.
  • Track procurement KPIs - cost savings, lead time, and vendor performance.
  • Support audit compliance and maintain complete procurement documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement efficiency and spend management.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce (MBA preferred).
  • 6-10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain (preferably in manufacturing / chemical / FMCG sector).
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Coupa) and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, contract management, and vendor evaluation.
