Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Execute pre-decommissioning checks including traffic validation, dependency assessment, and configuration backup.
• Perform logical decommissioning : disable uplinks / downlinks, remove VLANs / routing entries, and update monitoring tools.
• Support physical decommissioning : device power-down, startup-config wipe, and hardware removal coordination.
• Ensure asset disposition & compliance : update CMDB, maintain audit trails, and follow organizational compliance standards.
• Adhere to standard decommissioning procedures : connectivity validation, routing / forwarding checks, utilization analysis, control-plane validation, and graceful isolation before final shutdown.
• Prepare and submit post-decommissioning deliverables, including reports and evidence of backups, monitoring updates, and asset disposal.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to minimize risk and downtime during decommissioning.
