About the Role

This is a full-time remote opportunity for an experienced Senior Web Engineer to lead back-end and front-end development, including creating and customizing WordPress themes and plugins.

  • Create custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Enhance existing WordPress websites, ensuring responsiveness and compatibility across various devices and browsers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress websites, applying in-depth knowledge of web development principles.
  • Optimize websites for speed and performance using caching and other optimization techniques, resulting in improved user experience and engagement.
  • Collaborate with design and content teams to implement user-friendly features and functionalities, aligning with business objectives and goals.
  • Ensure website security by applying best practices and regularly updating plugins and themes, safeguarding sensitive data and protecting against potential threats.
  • Work with APIs to integrate third-party services into WordPress websites, expanding functionality and enhancing overall value proposition.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of development processes and changes, facilitating knowledge sharing and continuity within the team.

Required Skills :

  • Advanced proficiency in WordPress and familiarity with its core functions and architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL, with expertise in modern web development frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with WordPress themes, plugins, and the ability to create custom solutions, leveraging coding standards and best practices.
  • Basic understanding of responsive design principles and best practices for web performance, ensuring seamless user experiences across devices.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, enabling efficient collaboration and code management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize WordPress websites, resolving complex issues and improving overall system efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment, fostering open communication and cross-functional collaboration.
