Job Summary :

As a Shift Engineer, you will oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems within the 66kV substations and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS). You will ensure optimal performance and reliability of electrical equipment while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Monitor and control operations of transformers and associated equipment in 66kV substations.

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and GIS.

Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and execute maintenance activities.

Document operational data, maintenance activities, and incidents accurately.

Assist in the implementation of safety protocols and compliance with regulatory standards.

Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Participate in emergency response and contingency planning.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

(X) years of experience in electrical systems, with a focus on substations and GIS.

Strong knowledge of transformer operation and maintenance.

Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work in shifts, including nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications :

Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.

Experience with SCADA systems and remote monitoring technologies.

Knowledge of protective relays and control systems.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for emergencies.
