Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced WebSphere Application Server Administrator with 57 years of experience in managing enterprise-level application environments. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert with a strong focus on administration, configuration, and performance tuning for application servers like WebLogic and WildFly / JBoss. This role requires deep expertise in Java / J2EE middleware, robust scripting skills for automation, and a solid understanding of networking and security to ensure the reliability and scalability of our applications.
Key Responsibilities :
Application Server Management : Take full ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of application servers, including WebLogic and WildFly / JBoss. This includes installation, configuration, clustering for high availability, application deployments, and proactive performance tuning to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
Java / J2EE Middleware Expertise : Apply in-depth knowledge of Java / J2EE middleware components such as EJBs and JMS. You must be proficient in troubleshooting and managing the complexities introduced by Java runtime versions 8 through 17, including serialization impacts.
Messaging System Administration : Configure, tune, and troubleshoot enterprise messaging systems like JMS and ActiveMQ, ensuring reliable and asynchronous communication between applications.
Automation & Scripting : Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell / Unix scripting and configuration management tools like Ansible and Puppet to streamline environment provisioning and management tasks.
Networking & Security : Administer and configure critical networking and security components. This includes managing SSL / TLS certificate lifecycles, configuring load balancers, and setting up firewall and proxy rules.
Database Integration : Configure and manage database integrations with application servers, including setting up JNDI datasources and optimizing connection pooling.
Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting : Proactively monitor server performance using tools to analyze server logs, thread dumps, and heap dumps. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and stability issues.
Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) : Manage build and deployment tools, including Maven / Ant, Jenkins, and GitHub. Experience with pipeline automation is a plus.
OS & Infrastructure Management : Provide administration support for Linux / Unix operating systems in on-premises environments.
